Rappers are notoriously incarcerated visitors.  Nobody in the American rap game is having a good 2022, and that includes A$AP Rocky and Rod Wave.

The most well-known rappers have all had run-ins with the law for various offenses, including gun possession, drug use, and gang affiliation. A number of well-known rappers have been recently detained, and you can see them all here.

1. Casanova 

In a federal racketeering case and another accusation of “conspiracy to distribute over 100 kilogrammes of marijuana,” Brooklyn rapper Caswell Senior, better known by his stage name Casanova, was arrested yesterday (at the time of writing).

A “leadership role” in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation Bloods gang was held by the 35-year-old “Set Trippin” musician. If convicted on both counts, he may get as much as 60 years in prison.

3. Gunna

American rapper Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, better known by his stage name Gunna. He is a member of Young Thug’s YSL Records roster. He and Young Thug were recently detained in connection with a grand jury indictment in Georgia that included 56 counts.

According to the jail report, the “Drip Season 3” rapper is being held on allegations of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and of participating in street gang activity.

4. 42 Dugg

Interscope Records, 4 Pockets Full (4PF) (owned by Lil Baby and Yo Gotti), and Collective Music Group (CMG) have all signed 42 Dugg. The songs “Grace” and “We Paid” featuring American rapper Lil Baby brought him widespread recognition.

After the rapper failed to show up to a federal prison camp in West Virginia last month to fulfil a six-month term for illegally having a pistol, he became the subject of a lengthy government search.

Yesterday, he was taken into custody after arriving at Willow Run Airport via private jet from Memphis, where he had seen the Memphis Grizzlies play the Golden State Warriors in an NBA playoff game.

5. Oj Da Juiceman

OJ da Juiceman, the CEO of So Icey Entertainment, and Gucci Mane, the CEO of 32 Entertainment, are business partners. Under his label, he dropped six mixtapes. The rapper is followed by 294 thousand people on Instagram.

The 40-year-old rapper from Atlanta was arrested and taken to the Hardin County Detention Center for drugs. Oj Da also had a firearm belonging to a convicted criminal in his possession.

6. A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was detained on April 21 at Los Angeles International Airport. The 33-year-old rapper was stopped at the airport while on a private flight from Barbados to Los Angeles.

According to the new music video for “D.M.B.” by the multiple Grammy Award nominee, he has married Rihanna and they are expecting their first child together. A shooting occurred on November 6, 2021, and he was arrested for it.

7. Bankroll Freddie

On April 14, 2022, police in the United States arrested Bankroll Freddie, a 27-year-old American rapper, for having illegal firearms and drugs in his hands. Because he actively or passively refused to surrender to arrest, he is also being charged with resisting arrest.

The 2017 release of the freestyle “Lil Baby” marked the beginning of the musical career for the Conway High School alum. In addition, he released a freestyle version of the City Girls song “Act Up” under the Quality Control label. After releasing “Drip Like This” in 2019, the Arkansas native signed with the label.

8. Hoodrich Pablo Juan

Hoodrich After appearing on a Peewee Longway song titled “African Diamonds” and releasing his own song titled “Go Get Money” in 2014, Pablo Juan decided to pursue a career as a rapper.

After that, he joined 1017 Records, owned by Gucci Mane. His song “We Don’t Luv Em” became a hit, bringing him widespread acclaim. In 2020, he was apprehended by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for his involvement in gang, drug, and firearm-related offences.

The RICO Act is being used against him. He has been detained without bond and is still locked up. Gunna and Young Thug, who are both facing charges under the same Act, appear to be in for a rough ride.

9. YFN Lucci

Rapper, singer, and composer YFN Lucci was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Wish Me Well, his first mixtape, was released in 2014 after he inked a record deal with Think It’s A Game Entertainment.

In 2021, the 31-year-old rapper was apprehended after being included in an expansive indictment against accused members of the Bloods gang in Atlanta. He is currently spending time at Fulton County Jail.

10. 03 Greedo (Jason Jamal Jackson)

American rapper and songwriter 03 Greedo rose to prominence with the release of the first installment of his Purple Summer mixtape series in 2016. His breakthrough came in 2018 with the release of his debut studio album God Level and his mixtape The Wolf of Grape Street.

He was convicted of drug trafficking and handgun possession in 2018 and given a 20-year prison term, with the possibility of early release after only five years for good behaviour. He has continued his prolific output of songs even while behind bars.
