The WiFi doesn’t have a valid IP configuration issue that can occur at any point in time. This is really a troublesome issue that is faced by the users. This usually seems to be happening to the Windows 10 users and those who have had any recent updates.
There can be a number of things that can be causing this error. We are sure that you have already checked on your phone or other devices. If the WiFi can be connected using other devices and not your computer then the problem is here and not your ISP. So you are in the right place to find solutions. How To Wifi Doesn’t Have a Valid IP Configuration?
There are many things that make no sense in our lives and this is one of them. We can not tell you exactly what is causing the problem that you are facing. So the only thing that needs to be done is to find the different possible causes for the problem and the following the solutions for all of them hoping that one of them hits the mark.
We do have a list of solutions that you can try. Try to make your way down the list and hopefully you won’t have to go all the way through the 7th solution. It will be solved soon. Do not worry. Let us start with the first one.
1. Do a Clean Reboot
Here are the steps to do a clean reboot –
Step 1: Open the run dialogue box by pressing the Windows key + R. Then enter the MSConfig in the box. Go to the service tab.
Step 2: Check Hide All Microsoft Services and then disable all. Then open the task manager. Select the first one and select disable. Repeat the process again and again for all the tasks in the task bar and then close it.
Step 3: Click on the start up tab and then reboot the device. This should do the job.

2. Update Drivers
Here are the steps to do so –
Step 1: Click on the Windows button and press R to open the run dialogue box. Then enter the devmgmt.msc or hdwwiz.cpl command in the dialogue box.
Step 2: Go to the network adapter and find your own network adapter. Click on it and go to the driver tab. Then go to update driver option. Now you have to select the update driver option. You might have to select any on screen prompts that appear. Complete them.
3. Rollback Drivers
Here are the steps that you need to follow –
Step 1: Click on the Windows button and then press R. The run dialogue box will open and you have to enter the devmgmt.msc or hdwwiz.cpl commands in there.
Step 2: Go to the network adapter and then click on the network card that you have. Go to the Driver tab and then click on the Roll back driver option.
Step 3: If this option is grey then that means its not possible for you to do so. This method is not for you then.
4. Uninstall Drivers
Uninstalling the drivers will be helping to solve the problem. Follow the steps that we have here –
Step 1: First go to the run dialogue box using windows + R button. Then you need to enter the command devmgmt.msc there.
Step 2: Double click on Network Adapters and then find your network card among that and double click on it.
Step 3: Click on the drivers tab and then uninstall it. You have to follow the steps and then restart the computer.
5. Disable Or Uninstall Antivirus
You can easily disable your antivirus and this should be one of the solutions of the problem that you are facing –
Step 1: First you have to go ahead and locate the antivirus software. Then you right click on it.
Step 2: Select uninstall.
There is another way of doing this –
Step 1: First go to the run dialogue box using the Windows button and press R. Then enter the command appwiz.cpl.
Step 2: This is then you need to locate the antivirus software you are using and uninstall it. Check if the problem is solved or not.
6. Restore Windows Firewall To Its Default Settings
If you are facing the error still in your computer then try to restore the Windows Firewall to its default settings. Here are the steps that you need to follow in order to do so –
Step 1: Go to the run dialogue box by pressing on the Windows key + R button.
Step 2: Type in the firewall.cpl option and then enter. Click on the restore default option.
Step 3: Click on yes.
This should solve the issue if this had been the cause. If not then move on to the next solution.
7. Releasing And Renewing IP Address
Releasing and renewing the IP address is one of the solution to the problem. This is highly the last chance that you have got. If you tested out the previous methods and that did not match then it is going to be a problem. Check out the steps that you need to follow –
Step 1: Click or press the Windows button and enter cmd in the search box.
Step 2: Right click and run as administrator. You need to give the following commands –
Step 3: Once again type in the following command and then on enter –
Step 4: Then type in the exit command and press enter. Check if problem persists.
