Former “One Direction” member and pop icon Liam Payne appeared on the “Impaulsive” podcast with the boys and explained why the band had to disband. In addition to this, he spilled the beans on the band’s wildest member, their sex wars, their ex-wife Cheryl, Gigi Hadid, Zayn, their dispute with Justin Bieber, and much more.
For What Reason did One Direction Disband?
As part of a new “British Invasion” (together with groups like Adele), One Direction has been called responsible for reviving the popularity of boy bands in the United States. The famed band “One Direction” consisted of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne has finally addressed some lingering issues about the group. In March of 2015, Zayne was the first to leave the band.
While listening to an episode of Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” Podcast, I found myself in a deep conversation with the boys. Liam admitted that, in addition to the shock of his sudden global celebrity, he had a hard time adjusting to life with his new bandmates.
He said he wasn’t used to being among “rowdy guys” and that he hung out more with his father. Liam answered, “Louis was wild,” when asked which band member embodied the term “rowdy.” He yearned for the freedom of the wild. He has this kind of energy. Although he and Louis are now closest friends, he said they used to loathe each other. His exact words were, “Like, to come to blows hate each other, it was close.”
The Dispute Between Liam and One of the Group
Later in the interview, when Liam was asked if he and the other members of One Direction had ever “actually come to blows,” he spoke up about the band’s dynamic. We were quite near at times,” Liam added. There was a fight backstage, and one of the members threw me into a wall.
Liam explained his approach to the problem. As he put it, “If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high likelihood that you’ll never use them again.” He continued, saying that the member ‘took his hands off.’
Zayn Malik and Liam Dislike One Another
In addition, Liam Payne shared his thoughts on his relationship with Zayn Malik. The 28-year-old singer made the revelation and discussed his former bandmate on a podcast. The musician left the boy band One Direction in 2015, a year before they announced their permanent breakup.
Liam has been quoted as saying, “There are many reasons why I dislike Zayn and many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side.” If I had to go through what he did, with his development and everything else,” Liam added, “I don’t think I could have made it.” My parents are extremely encouraging, to the point where it can be frustrating. Zayn’s upbringing was unique in this regard.
In addition, “You can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d**k,'” he concluded. However, “once you’re understanding what he’s been through to get to that point — and also whether or not he wanted to be there,” you may change your mind.
That’s why, as Liam put it, he “can’t sit here and d**k on [Zayn] because of whatever,” because he’s “so misunderstood.” When asked if he agreed with his behaviour, Liam answered, “Listen, I don’t. Some of his actions are hard for me to support.
For that reason, I can’t support him. Aside than that, he added, “What I can say is I understand, and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you’re willing to give them.”
Looking Backwards
Simon Cowell formed the band on July 23, 2010, after each member made a solo appearance on The X Factor. They followed that up by releasing five monumental albums as a unit, touring the world extensively to sold-out crowds, shattering countless records, and garnering a slew of accolades.
After six years as a band, One Direction went on an indefinite sabbatical in 2016, marking the end of Liam’s stint with the group. The announcement that “One Direction” was going on extended hiatus in 2015 came as a complete surprise to fans.
The reason One Direction broke up, it was reported at the time, was because the members were “exhausted and wanted solo careers.” As it turned out, “They are taking a hiatus so that they can work on individual projects for a while.” But Liam has been clean about how terrible his time in the band was. As he put it:
For quite some time, in fact, I was an alcoholic who repeatedly put himself in dangerous situations. I finally reached the point where I knew I was going to die from alcoholism. I knew I had to take action.
I drank a lot to dull the pain of living in my own bizarre fantasy world. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing. It was terrifying to go to therapy for the first time and realise you have no idea who you are or what you enjoy.
The prospect of my profession expanding any farther terrified me. One could ask, “Who fears success?” However, that is sometimes what must be done. I’ve been beaten down by my own success on more than one occasion.
When I’m down, I buckle down and give it my all. Finally, after all these years, Liam has acknowledged what went down backstage.
He went into detail about his interactions with Gigi Hadid and Zayn, their disputes over women, his confrontation with Justin Bieber, and other topics. By the year 2020, the band will have sold 70 million records around the world. Liam even admitted that there is no other band that could ever replace them.
