Facebook had gone ahead and renamed itself, Meta. This is done to bring about the next generation of the internet and get this started. The next generation of the internet is supposedly called Metaverse, so they have renamed themselves as such.
Now, what is this Metaverse? It is a combination of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and digital infrastructure that are going to be backed by decentralized technologies such as cryptocurrency and blockchain.
