Beyoncé’s already stellar resume just got even more spectacular with her first Oscar nomination, one of cinema’s most prestigious accolades.
In addition to “Dos Oruguitas” from “Encanto” by Lin-Manuel Miranda, “Down to Joy” by Van Morrison, “No Time to Die” by Billie Eilish, and “Somehow You Do” by Diane Warren, “Be Alive” is nominated for an Oscar in 2022.
She Has Been Nominated For The Best Original Song Category
The superstar’s song “Be Alive,” from the Best Picture nomination King Richard, is in the running for Best Original Song.
Will Smith, the film’s executive producer and star who is also nominated for Best Actor this year.
Previously spoke to EW about the stirring ballad that was inspired by the film’s story of Richard Williams’ journey to mould his daughters Venus and Serena into tennis champions, saying.
“The marriage of a movie and a song is a kind of magic that’s unmatched in entertainment.” He continues, “When Beyoncé called, I was overjoyed.”
Although this is Beyoncé’s first Oscar nomination, she has previously performed at the awards presentation.
In 2007, she sang “Listen” from Dreamgirls, which was also nominated for Best Original Song and was created specifically for her character in the film.
Beyonce, a worldwide singing sensation, has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for her song “Be Alive,” featured in the film King Richard.
The song plays over archival video of the real Williams family as the credits roll, and its uplifting lyrics recount the sisters’ struggles and triumphs along the way to becoming world-famous tennis players.
